Learning & Development Consultant (Chennai) – First-Time Manager

This opportunity is suited to a practical Learning & Development Consultant who can translate First-Time Manager knowledge into clear business outcomes for assignments linked to Chennai.

Role Overview

Client is seeking an experienced consultant to deliver First-Time Manager training for people managers, supervisors, and team leads in Chennai, India, and across Asia. The assignment suits a commercially credible facilitator who can help clients build stronger people managers and more effective team leadership.

Assignments may range from focused workshops to short capability programmes, depending on the client scope, learner profile, and delivery context. The strongest candidates will be able to adapt content without losing clarity or commercial relevance.

The expected delivery mode for this brief is Hybrid, and the role should be approached as a Multi-Session Programme requirement.

What You Will Support

  • Support participants with examples, clarifications, and implementation guidance that reduce the gap between theory and day-to-day application.
  • Refine materials where needed so the programme remains current, usable, and appropriate for the target audience.
  • Adapt delivery to the client brief, participant seniority, and the sector context without losing clarity or pace.
  • Keep the learning intervention aligned with business priorities, not just topic coverage, so the work delivers visible value to the client.
  • Use practical case studies, scenarios, tools, or workflows to make First-Time Manager content easier to apply after the session.
  • Facilitate discussion, questions, and applied exercises in a way that keeps learning commercially relevant and outcome-focused.

What We Are Looking For

Strong practical expertise in First-Time Manager; prior experience delivering corporate learning or facilitation engagements; credible management experience, facilitation maturity, and strong behavioural coaching capability; able to tailor delivery for adult learners and client stakeholders.

Strong fit for consultants, trainers, or practitioners with experience in people management, manager capability, team leadership, or change leadership and a track record of supporting professional capability-building initiatives.

  • Previous experience delivering training, workshops, facilitation, coaching, or advisory work for professional audiences.
  • Proven subject-matter credibility in First-Time Manager with evidence of practical business or corporate application.
  • Availability for project-based work linked to Chennai, India, and wider Asia where relevant.
