Shanghai First-Time Managers APAC Training Advisor

A current stream of client demand has created an opportunity for a commercially credible APAC Training Advisor in First-Time Managers for assignments associated with Shanghai and the wider Asian market.

Opportunity Overview

This opportunity is targeted at a strong advisor with proven First-Time Managers expertise and experience supporting people managers, supervisors, and team leads in Shanghai, China, and across Asia. The brief focuses on practical delivery, stakeholder alignment, and high-quality learner engagement.

The requirement is centred on delivery quality, participant engagement, and the ability to align learning interventions with organisational priorities. Client-facing credibility will matter throughout the engagement.

From an operational perspective, the assignment is best viewed as Multi-Session Programme work delivered primarily in a In-Person environment.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Support participants with examples, clarifications, and implementation guidance that reduce the gap between theory and day-to-day application.
  • Refine materials where needed so the programme remains current, usable, and appropriate for the target audience.
  • Adapt delivery to the client brief, participant seniority, and the sector context without losing clarity or pace.
  • Keep the learning intervention aligned with business priorities, not just topic coverage, so the work delivers visible value to the client.
  • Use practical case studies, scenarios, tools, or workflows to make First-Time Managers content easier to apply after the session.
  • Facilitate discussion, questions, and applied exercises in a way that keeps learning commercially relevant and outcome-focused.

Preferred Background

Demonstrable expertise in First-Time Managers; confidence running workshops, training, or advisory sessions for corporate audiences; credible management experience, facilitation maturity, and strong behavioural coaching capability; comfortable working in in-person environments.

Ideal candidates will have worked across people management, manager capability, team leadership, or change leadership, with the credibility to engage client stakeholders and deliver practical learning outcomes for business audiences.

  • Comfort operating in In-Person settings and handling the logistical realities of live corporate delivery.
  • A professional background that supports credibility with enterprise, multinational, or client-facing training audiences.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, including the ability to explain complex material in a clear and applied way.
