Medan Capability Building Specialist – Learning & Development

We are building our pool of trusted professionals for Learning & Development delivery and are now seeking a strong Capability Building Specialist for client needs connected to Medan and Asia.

Opportunity Overview

An upcoming client brief requires a capable specialist trainer who can lead Learning & Development learning engagements for HR teams, managers, and leadership populations in Medan, Indonesia, and across Asia. Success in the role depends on practical facilitation, business relevance, and the ability to help clients develop people capability, talent practices, and manager effectiveness.

The requirement is centred on delivery quality, participant engagement, and the ability to align learning interventions with organisational priorities. Client-facing credibility will matter throughout the engagement.

Delivery is expected to take place in a In-Person format, with the engagement currently framed as Short Series support.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Maintain strong session control, learner engagement, and professional delivery standards across preparation and live facilitation.
  • Coordinate effectively with client stakeholders and internal contacts on objectives, timelines, and expected learner outcomes.
  • Translate complex ideas into practical guidance, examples, and decision-making frameworks that participants can use in the workplace.
  • Support participants with examples, clarifications, and implementation guidance that reduce the gap between theory and day-to-day application.
  • Refine materials where needed so the programme remains current, usable, and appropriate for the target audience.
  • Adapt delivery to the client brief, participant seniority, and the sector context without losing clarity or pace.

Preferred Background

Relevant practitioner-level experience in Learning & Development; strong facilitation and stakeholder communication; strong consulting judgment, facilitation skill, and the ability to connect people topics to business outcomes; able to structure sessions that balance concept, discussion, and application.

Preferred candidates will bring exposure to HR, talent management, leadership development, learning and development, or organisation development, along with experience working with managers, professional learners, or client-facing business teams.

  • Confidence working with client stakeholders and adjusting delivery to different business contexts, sectors, and learner groups.
  • Previous experience delivering training, workshops, facilitation, coaching, or advisory work for professional audiences.
  • Proven subject-matter credibility in Learning & Development with evidence of practical business or corporate application.
